It has been years since the failure and demise of Planetary. Since then the world has changed. Angels roam the European skylines and demons stalk the back streets and alleyways of America. The Company, having reached the pinnacle of it's existence, decides that it is time to initiate another Planetary team into the strange, ugly world. Their mission: to investigate the reasons for the weirdness that occurs in one's backyard with regularity and to exterminate them.
Enter, Livingston Chance, the man chosen by the Company to assemble and lead the next generation of Planetary.
"It's a strange world."
"Time to change it."

How about this time we make the members of Planetary normal humans because they are easier to control. Hmmm. A thought just hit me. How about a subplot focusing on a rogue Planetary member from the first incarnation of the team?
Pulp heroes of the past makes an appearance in the harsh reality of the IFS future. Talk about a future shock:)
Tarzan'll be soiling his loincloth at the sight of it all:)

The People Sonics
Living between the planes of time and form, there lives the People Sonics.
Composed purely of waves invisible, the People Sonics thrive in a community
called the Core. These people live in perpetual speed and isolation until
one when an accident made a section of the Core unstable. On the verge
of destruction, the People Sonics are forced to release the excess energies
trapped within the damaged Core to a place where it would do the least
harm. So they released on the physical plane, more specifically Earth.
This resulted in the birth of the speedster. Men unknowingly imbued with
a percentage of the released Core
energies giving them the ability to run with uncanny speed. This power
is also a disease because with every use of their power, chemical energy
within the speedster is turned into the energy makeup of the People Sonics.
In time, the physical form of the speedster will not be able to handle
the raging Core energies within it's body and will explode with the magnitude
of ten Hydrogen bombs. Such a disaster will result in the deaths of millions
of people of Earth.
Planetary knows of the existence of the People Sonics and intends to go to them and find a way to avert such a catastrophe. Through any means possible, Planetary will invade the Core, destroy the People Sonic, and de-power every living speedster on Earth. Their reason...
...it's for your own good.
* * *
I know the science of it all needs work but what the hell it sounded cool to me:) Hope we could use that somewhere in the series. The thought of the scene where the human members of Planetary finally enter the home of the People Sonics through G force re-entry and the bombardation of light waves really justs stick with me. Lots of barfing I assure you:)
More later then.

Now onto Planetary:IFS.
What I've got is very very bare bones in terms of a premise. I've thought
it over and come to the conclusion that the team can't just be wide eyed
humans marvelling at the sight of the wonders of superheroics. The team,
like the Company and the Fourth Man, work to break down and find ways to
control every aspect of super beings. As a result, I thought that the members
of the
team should hate superheroes. This'll put the actual team at odds with
Chance but that just adds for more office drama, so to speak:)
Here's the prospective scheme for Planetary.
The Fourth Man// - The man or woman or whatever in charge of everything.
Founder of the Company.
Section Upper// - Planetary's supervisors. Won't necessarily get into investigations with the team but they won't just leave them high and dry when the shit hits the fan.
Livingston Chance: Field Leader & Recruitment Officer
Anya: Computer & Informations Specialist
Field Team// - The actual field team.
Jakob Harkes: Black Ops/Wetware Operative
Abbigail Moore: Covert Insertion/Espionage Expert
The Drummer: Occult/Paranormal Specialist
Give me input and suggestions and please feel free to make changes. I need all the help I could get.

Subject: Harkes
Date: Sun, 12 Jan 2200 13:50:32 GMT
From: Laetica <[email protected]>
To: CJ <[email protected]>
Jakob Harkes was born in Chicago in 2154 of Asian/Jewish parentage. It is claimed that he may be a descendent of the original villain turned hero of the 1940's known as Hark.
What we know of him for certain is that from 2174 to 2189, he operated as an agent of the United States government agency, WildCATS as a field operative and later as a commander.
He quit the team in 2189 and went to ground, vanishing from sight of all agencies. It is rumoured that he was the sole American present at RAF Rudloe, Albion when the Angels first began to assimilate the Crows into the Albonic community, circa 2190. Though this information cannot be supported, it would support the current information we have received that we indicated he is now operating within Black Ops a mysterious worldwide organization.
In 2195 he was sighted once more on US soil, this time in the company of Cameron Mcray (alias the Grifter) in the city of Los Angeles.
Their friendship lasted the some total of an entire year, during which many of the city's more dubious residents lost their lives.
After that, Harkes disappeared again for a total of two years before resurfacing on the outskirts of Albion, apparently suffering from severe blood loss and amnesia.
Then, there is nothing, until recently. Two days ago, the Inner Sanctum received word of the new organization and Harkes has been linked to it, in what manner, I'm not sure but it seems as if we're going to be seeing a lot more of Jakob Harkes in the future.

>> Section Upper
> This sounds good. Possible tie in with Bill's Agent Johnson?
Don't think so. I'd rather keep the Company and Planetary not having any governmental ties which is really ironic because they created some of those said governments. Funny innit?:)

> I assume Anya is already with Chance in the Arctic former Planetary base?
That hasn't been revealed yet but I'm thinking that they fall in the same category as Jenny Sparks that being the heroes from the past that have actual original origins:)
And yes Anya is in the Arctic base. Which I think would be her main stomping grounds with occasional world tripping with the team aside.

GenesisX: An alien equation having aspects of Chaos Theory, Time/Space
Theory, Probability Projection/Variance, and human genetic make-up. Extrapolated
from Dr. Axel Brass' organic super computer in the late 1990's, the GenesisX
equation was just recently decrypted and has led many to believe that the
equation can predict events and occurances that involve the birth or
creation of superpowered beings (SPB's). For the past 50 years the
Planetary group has kept an eye on the equation which, ever since it was
extrapolated, has been running non-stop in the Planetary super computer
facilities. There have been many deciphered results from the GenesisX equation,
all of which have resulted in the birth of every hero in the IFS Universe.
There
hasn't been a critical equation result in the past few years...
...until now.
Basic Plot: A small Tibetan village has given birth to a most amazing
human being. By pure chance or by odd occurance, Zhing Ra-Ming was born
with the ability of flight, limited invulnerability, and superhuman strength.
Raised by humble, hardworking parents, Zhing has grown to be a decent,
kind, godfearing man. His powers have not gone to his head. He spends his
days
farming and his nights looking at the stars, not wanting to be up there
with them but to just be content gazing at their beauty. Zhing's powers
have grown tremendously over the years. Zhing has come of age and has decided
to join the monastery.
The GenesisX equation fortold of Zhing Ra-Ming. From his birth to the
present, Planetary has been observing him from a distance in fear of the
power that Zhing possesses. For years, Planetary has only observed never
revealing itself to Zhing. The day has come for them to reveal themselves.
This plot line will be paralleled with Livingston Chance's abrupt discovery
that there has been a new Planetary team activated.
The story will basically (hopefully) deconstruct the archetype of the Superman like hero that is Zhing. The mind set, the motivations, and the real reactions to real life consequences by a superhero who just happens to be a man.

DARWIN TECHNOLOGIES: A mega corporation specializing in human evolution theory/investigation, genome manipulation, enchancement implantation, and global terra-forming. Headed by Nikolas Darwin III. (Intended to be one of the book's major villians)
WILLIAM FENCER: The rogue member from Planetary II. He's hooked up with
Darwin in hopes of getting in on Darwin's agenda of overthrowing the Fourth
Man and The Company. Like Chance, Fencer is very old but shows no sign
of his
true age. A trickster, manipulator, and has all five senses dramatically
enchanced. (Intended to be Chance's foil and maybe the head for Darwin's
version of Planetary)
> Cool. So he was in the previous team? How did he survive?
Well, I had thoughts of making him into the traitor of the previous team. He might've sold them out to get something very important to him, like power, info, or something.

> Wow. I like the fact that GenesisX is responsible for activating the
Gen-Factor in the IFS-U and also responsible for creating > some others
in more bizarre fashion. Its like an underlying law of how the universe
works that is so complex and
> evolved that no one noticed.
Well it really didn't create them. It merely foretold of their coming. This gives the other writers room to have more original origins for their creations instead of just dumbing it down to "the GenesisX did it."

Planetary Outline
#1 - "Anatomy Of A Hero"
#2 - "Anatomy Of A Villain"
#3 - "Living With The Human Machines" -
[codeineska: This machine is at
the centre of a village...Its a perfect re-creation of a small village
in 1950's California...
Only this village is in China...No one seems to register its there.
In this village lives Brad Douseldorf (or something)...
He's the kind of guy you see on American 50s poster and ads...Perfect
in everyway, lovely wife, two kids, good job, nice house, dog named Toto
etc. He's the happiest man alive... Until he wakes up in 2200. He wonders
about thinking "Gee whiz, where did all this come from?" And he looks up
in the sky and above him he can see him himself... In giant proportions,
walking down the drive way and kissing his kids and driving to work...
And the giant him looks at the 2200 him and says "You should
never had done that crossword, Brad." Anyhow, after being taken prisoner
by Chinese authorities, he strangely disappears.
When he wakes up its the '50s again. He gets up looks at the words
filled in the newspaper. Its all gibberish. Basically Brad *is* the machine
and for hundreds of years, he's been predicting his own future (that which
will happen in 2200) and even moving towards it - but he can't cope with
the inevitability and so he's constantly moving into the future and dragging
the past into 2200 with (hence the village) - he's completely in flux...
Until Jakob Harkes and the Planetary team move in next door to Brad in
1950s California to try and sort his equation out without him exploding
and folding the past in on the future.
MaXXimumJ: but jakob will have
to try to obtain total control of brad.
MaXXimumJ: he's too much of an
asset.
codeineska: Perhaps Jakob is even
influenced in this and before he can cease such control he starts *becoming*
Brad...
MaXXimumJ: so jakob has to fool
brad into working for planetary or something:)
codeineska: before he becomes a
fixture in 1950s America himself
codeineska: and make sure Brad
maintains his fantasy whilst not drowning in it.] -
#4 - The Second w/ Chad
#5 - 7 - New York issues
#8 - XUG w/ Bryan
#9 - 12 - The fall of Planetary (to coincide with "AoA" #16 - 19)
* * *
MABEL WINSTON & KARI VERHOVEN: Rouge Planetary agents who went so deep undercover that they became consumed by their own cover-stories. It is believed that they may be serving with the Brotherhood of the Darkness or deep within New York but nothing, as yet, has been confirmed.
SUSANNA RICHARDS: Former Planetary agent. Operated as a collector of information for the Field Team. She died when she crossed the path of the Alukah vampir, Isaac ("Angels Over Albion: IFS" #9).
DOCTOR SHARP & NEW SION: An experiment funded by Darwin Technologies and designed to study the GenesisX principle and Gen-Actives in general. Sharp made the mistake of constructing Sion over a magic zone, causing it to regenerate aspects of an unusual nature possibly steming from an alternate reality (if we were a DC fanfiction group this is the point where I would stand up and shout 'Hypertime!').
STONE: Leader of Planetary's assualt team on New Sion. Primary objective - retrive the children and train them for Planetary.
FLAGG: Former comrade of Harkes and member of WildCATS, the metahuman known as Flagg is the primary operative in Nikolas Darwin's counter-Planetary strikeforce.
ALPHA (TRAVIS MORRIS): Powers: Travis powers are constantly changing, as well soon find out. He starts off with some low-level mental abilities, such as telepathy and telekinesis. But this will change very soon. Hell go through a lot of superpowers, a lot of them very unusual, but all having a purpose. Hes what is referred to as Gen-Alpha and is supposed to be the perfect Gen-Active being. But it takes time for him to evolve.
TANK (ELVIS ADDAMS): Powers: Tank is perfect for the high-tech world. His body has a very strange form of regeneration which can double as an offensive power in many ways. When injured, he absorbs machinery or the components thereof, healing the wound. As this progresses, and certain portions of his body become more encomposed in a techno-organic substance, he can mentally rearrange the pieces to create a variety of different tools. Depending on just what he has in his system at the time, he could do anything from create a lock-picking device out of his hand, to something that harnasses sonic energy and fires it in a destructive blast. It all depends. But as time goes on and he continues to patch himself together using techy stuff, itll get out of hand to the point where if it keeps up, he could be completely covered in the stuff, only retaining his mind. Ideas: The tech substance is creating a shell for him, and when he is covered, hell eventually evolve out of it as a more powerful being.
EVER (MARCUS EVERSON): Powers: Marcus is the powerhouse of the group. He has incredible strength, speed, agility, enhanced vision and hearing. Hes the superman, minus the flight.
ISIS: Powers: Isis power can be described as an immunity to direct danger, only effective when she turns the power on. It allows her to withstand serious amounts of physical harm and regenerate that damage almost instantaneously. However, the power must be turned on to actually be used, naturally. Which means, if someone comes out of nowhere and shoots her in the back, she will be hurt as normal. She must have enough time to turn the power on (it takes a couple minutes to power up), and she must expect the attack to some degree. There are other limitations as well. This is a purely physical power, so any mental attacks are not hindered by it. She still feels the pain, just about half as much as normal. If she is blown to pieces, she probably wont get back up.
STATIC (JENNA ADDAMS) Powers: Jenna is a living electrical conduit. Her body is so full of electric energy that she can use it in a variety of different ways, including super speed and electrical bolts. However, there are some disadvantages to this power. Namely, she is constantly hyper and talks at a very fast speed to the point where its hard to keep up with her. The only things that can calm her down, for some reason, are apples. Sometimes bubblegum works, but that just keeps her busy. Apples actually have some sort of effect on her, calming her down and lowering the level of active electricity in her system for a time.
SIGMA: All Gen-Actives stem from Sigma (the final summation). Sigma
was born on an alternate Earth that was destroyed by the scientist turned
evil, Damocles. Being a living parallel dimensional nexus, Sigma survived
his Earth's destruction and was raised on WS-Earth by the scientist, Doctor
Simon Tsung. This also means Sigma exsists in many parallel worlds
imultaneously by the way. Because Sigma is a living nexus of parallel
universes, he is fueled by nearly limitless power that he can barely control.
When his powers flare out of control they threaten everyone and everything
around him so Tsung created a suit of armor that creates a shell around
Sigma to protect him and others. Like an armadillo, however, Sigma
is worthless when in his shell. Another note about his powers is that since
he is a nexus, he is capable of generating every gen-active ability conceivable
though he is limited by his own experience and imagination. In Fire from
Heaven, Kaizen Gamorra (who was later revealed to actually be John Colt)
cloned Sigma and succeeded in animating him with the mind patterns of Miles
Craven. The clone was called a Gen-Omega and was able to tap into
Sigma's nexus related powers. As a side note, the Gen-Omega had a
bar code on his forehead with the number 7537. Are there more than
7,000 cloned specimens out there? This is the basis of my idea for
Gen23 but more on that later. Here is my favorite part. To animate
the The Gen-Omega clone, Kaizen needed a sample of the Gen-Factor to jump
start him and keep him alive long enough to steal the original Sigma's
nexus related powers. So, Kazien stole the gen-factor from the original
members of Team7 (Deathblow, Backlash, Grifter, Jackson Dame amongst others).
Apparently, Dr Tsung located Sigma years ago when he was deposited on our
world, extracted blood samples, created the first Gen-Serum which Craven
tested on Team7. Without the Gen-Factor serum, the remaining members
of Team7
will die. So once again for review: the Gen-Factor is taken away from
Team7...a team that includes Marc Slayton. Marc
Slayton the Kherubim halfbreed. And it is the Kherubim tainted
Gen-Serum that degrades the Sigma Clone and ultimately destroys him.
As the Gen-Omega quickly dissolves, Sigma draws back his power and then
restores Team7's missing Gen-Factor. My idea for Trev was simple.
We know Kaizen was never so simple...I imgaine he did things in triplicate
and
so what IF there were several other clones. I envisioned a clone
of a clone of a clone of a clone that is hidden in a vast chamer that serves
no purpose but to be kept alive by machines so that his body can produce
the Gen-Factor. This 7th generation clone has no mind or personality
to speak of, he is simply like a cow on steroids, fatted to produce extra
normal
amounts of milk or in this case, Gen-Factor. But I was also mentioning
that perhaps one day the clone became aware and the nexus awoke once more
since Sigma obviously knows no boundires of space nor time. The fact that
he exsists in more than one reality at once IS a fascinating idea.
Maybe he'll show up in Avengers America ;)
STONE: Leader of the Planetary team that freed the Gen23 team from New Sion. He is also their appointed guardian.

Gen23: Outline
Broad Outline:
#1 - (The End of the World, part 1: Once Upon A Time): Begin with Travis
going to school, his mother calling him. He rushes out and rides to school
on his skateboard. Description of a very a-typical early 1960's neighborhood
follows (think Edward Scissorhands). Flamingos in the yard, neighbors mowing
and trimming their hedges, tending to gardens. Others going to work in
their nice cars, wearing their good suits and carrying briefcases (most
of them almost identical to one another).
Travis meets up with Kyoko, whom he's been friends with since
he was an infant. She rollerblades, he skates. When he stops at Kyoko's
house, Travis could have sworn he saw her dad wearing a gun underneath
his suit jacket. He questions this, but she just shrugs and tells him it
was probably just his cell phone (since her dad is a businessman. As to
what kind... neither of them have ever figured that out). Travis just shrugs
it off and they continue onward to school.
The two arrive at St. Christopher High School, a co-ed private
school with a dress code, one that both Travis and Kyoko don't enjoy adhering
by, so they bend the rules as far as they can. When the two get there,
they spot Tank and his sister Jenna, who are talking with the 'new kid'
in school, Quinn Haller. The new kid isn't very friendly, and he's trying
to get away from Tank, though he takes a liking to Jenna, at least in regards
to her looks. Travis and Kyoko meet up with them, Quinn gives a snide remark
when they introduce themselves, and he leaves. They don't really like him
already, and Tank fills them in on the rumors he's heard, while Jenna swoons.
Cut to Dr. Sharp being interviewed by a news agency (think 20/20
or some crap). He's asked an assortment of questions about the Gen-Active
project he's heading up, specifically the regulating of SPBs by putting
them in an artificial environment (use this time to answer some reader
questions, like 'what happens if they want to get away from the city called
New Sion [from 'Zion,' the ideal nation or society envisioned by Judaism]'
).
Cut to the small military organization watching the broadcast
on a huge monitor, just next to a holographic projection of their target
area - New Sion and St. Christopher High School.
If it's not very long by this point, add more stuff that happens
in school. Introduce other characters. Last scene is of Tank, late at night,
on his computer at home as he stumbles onto the secrets of New Sion.
Establish characters (Travis, Kyoko, Tank, Jenna, Tank, Marcus).
Small hints at what's going on. Establish potential villains (Dr. Sharp,
others). Not much more than that. The big stuff will come in the next couple
issues. Show characters leading a normal life, with some important not-so-normal
things going on. Give glimpses into the 'real world,' the one outside the
fake that was created for the Gen-Actives. At the end of the issue, Tank
finds something on the internet which will change everything...
#2 - (End of the World, part II: Revelations) Travis, Kyoko, and Jenna are all in the principal's office. They're not very happy about the whole thing, cuz they all think they're getting in trouble for skipping school or some other thing that they've done countless times in the past. They learn Elvis (Tank) has gone missing. The principal tries to get info from them, believing they might all now know the secret. Short scene. Follow with a short scene showing Tank hiding somewhere, freaking out, and something odd going on with his arm. Back to school; Marcus and others go to office after the first group is walking out, Travis tells them to not say a thing, even though he has no idea what's going on. Quinn tells them everything he knows and makes some stuff up. Follow with Dr. Sharp scene, who is trying to locate the boy and make sure things aren't going all to hell. He finds him and sends someone powerful to capture him. By the end of the issue, Tank finds Travis and Kyoko, and tells them everything he found on the internet, about how the school is fake.
#3 - (End of the World, part III: Saviors) Men in 20th century-style
suits show up immediately, Tank runs but is shot. Travis shouts at the
men and shows his powers (think Dark City telekinesis). Kids are now officially
on the run. The men are knocked over, but not taken out of the fight. To
make things worse, the big gun shows up, who just happens to be Steven
Stromo, Travis' idol. He's packin major heat and would probably have wiped
the kids out if Marcus didn't suddenly show up (Stromo knocks Travis and
Kyoko down, and Tank makes a comment when Stromo has him, about how Stromo
sucks). Marcus beats the living crap out of him, showing just how strong
he is. Kids realize this is all very weird and not right. A dream? Nah,
too cliche.
Cut to another scene where the military team is now within the
city and they come across Jenna in her home, which is now in shambles.
She's crying in the corner and when one of the men comes to her, she lashes
out with her electric power, then disappears. Scene where Stone, the leader,
makes a connection with Jenna (future plot w/ Jenna having a crush on Stone?
Mebbe).
Next scene is of Quinn, who saw what happened with the group.
We learn here that he has known about this longer than the others, and
he is a very powerful Gen-Active with mental-based abilities. But as he
thinks out loud about how he can make things to his advantage, he gets
an unexpected visit from... Dr. Sharp! Dun dun dunnn!
#4 - (End of the World, part IV: Armageddon) Focus on Isis here. She
was snooping around the playground, where she heard a commotion. There
she was attacked, believed to be a threat by more of Sharp's agents. Apparently,
the place is on a full-scale red alert, shoot first ask questions later
type deal. Before they attacked her, she was looking over the town, since
the playground is on a tall hill, and she saw houses on fire, destruction
going on below. Show all of that in a quick flashback, since it starts
with a focus on her looking beat-up. The agents are about to beat her up
even more, until she goes unconscious, but she regains her energy ten-fold
and knocks one man down, grabbing his gun and using it on the others. She's
never killed anything before, so she doesn't keep the 'tough grrrl' act
up for long.
Cut to the chaos down below within the town. Marcus, Travis,
Kyoko, and Tank are all on the run. Doctors, teachers, cops, mail men,
they're all trying to detain the kids. There's chaos all around. People
getting shot, kids learning about their powers and using them lethally
(some too late), and explosions, fire, destruction, all of that good stuff
is everywhere. It's Armageddon for this town. Travis decides they're going
to the edge of town, where he thinks he'll be able to escape. (Have a member
or two of DV8 in the background. heh heh. Also have Tank freaking out,
wanting to save his sister. Travis: "Tank, you need to accept that there's
a chance she might already be dead. Don't throw more lives into the fire.")
Kids all get in a van that still has the keys in it. Isis falls on top
of the car from a hill as they turn a corner. She's fighting a clown. Gets
stabbed, she kicks him in the nads and stabs him, throwing him off the
car. She slides in through the window, Marcus knows her from the track
team (cuz he's on the football team). Then suddenly, Travis slams on the
breaks. His mom and dad are standing in front of the car, he comes inches
from hitting them.
#5 - (End of the World, part V: Exodus) The last issue! This will be
a big blowout, starting with the cliffhanger from last ish. Travis' mom
and dad plead for him to come out of the car, to help them and help try
to stop this madness. They want what's best for him. They try talking about
his childhood, but they make a mistake (maybe mentioning when they were
given Travis as a baby). Travis is crying a little bit, then his father
pulls out a gun, threatening. Travis puts the car in drive, his dad fires,
he floors it as his mother is pulling out a gun. ("You're not my mother,"
he whispered between gritted teeth. Tears streamed down his cheeks, his
eyes full of anger and sadness. But he kept on driving. He had to save
his friends.)
Quick scene with military group and Jenna. Many of the men are
being killed by the townspeople and Sharp's agents (military comms saying
the mission is fucked, just try to get these kids to safety). Stone trying
to protect her and telling the other children where to go. A stampede begins.
Hundreds of kids running through the streets, trying to get out, with the
grown-ups being trampled or taking them out. Jenna then points to the van,
seeing Tank's head look out the back window. But as she spots them, she
also sees Quinn floating on top of the hood of the car.
Cut to the van. Travis almost immediately tries to pop the hood
like he sees in the movies, but the kid's too heavy. ("Fuck! That always
worked in the movies!") Quinn begins tearing the van apart, pieces flying
everywhere. Kids quickly exit before they're ripped to shreds as well.
Quinn and Travis start battling it out with their powers, but Travis' are
so much more varied, so he is about to overcome Quinn until... bang. Stone
just plain shoots Quinn, hitting him in the jaw (the energy he was giving
off caused the bullet to move). Kids begin running with the stampede, trying
to escape, after a quick reunion with Tank and Jenna. Among the stampede,
Kyoko gets caught up. Travis can't stop running, though, and they won't
let him turn around. He hears a shot and freezes. Just before being trampled,
Marcus grabs him and takes him away. ("She's gone, Travis! She's gone!
And if you stop now, you'll be gone too!" Travis squirms in Marcus' grip
as he's lifted up off the ground and carried through the stampede. "We're
going to be free. We're going home, Travis." As he reaches out behind Marcus,
a tear escapes his eye. "We were home..." he whispers.
